Jesus Christ Is God Part I

This is a serious subject matter for the Christian faith. In fact, it is not a new debate and argument between Trinitarians and Arians but it actually stems back to roughly 256-336 AD and is attributed to be started by a Christian Presbyter who was a student in Alexandria, Egypt named Arius. Arianism theology was rejected by the majority of Christians in the early church and when the call to the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea in 325 AD was formed, it immediately rejected this new teaching of Arianism and deemed it heretical. Out of the 300 bishops that attended the Council, only 2 bishops did not sign the treaty that condemned this new teaching that was called “Arianism.”
Today there are many denominations within Christianity and there are few who follow the ideas and theological ways of thinking that Arianism has, the Most famous of these few is Jehovah witnesses and Iglesia ni Cristo, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and other Socinian groups. The main problem with The Jehovah Witnesses is they have gotten their Bible, and Greek from Trinitarians and then translated it to fit their ideologies and beliefs, or so they thought. See the Jehovah witnesses have a specific group of people that they believe have the ability to know what the Scriptures mean and be able to explain it within their Society and books.
Now some may try to chuck these points up to “scribe errors” yet these points I have made so far, and will go over after this paragraph will read identically if not very close to the same way in other translations. There are roughly 5,800 Greek, over 10,000 Latin, and 9,300 of various other language manuscripts of the New Testament alone. For the Old Testament, we have found the dead sea scrolls which confirm the Old Testament to be accurate for every book except Esther which we have found no scroll for yet and there are 2,000 manuscripts for the Old Testament in Greek as well.
A very common Jehovah witness argument is on what they call “scribe errors” or they will say this to prove their translation is the true by saying their translation fixes some of the errors yet they will say their bible has “scribe errors” when you find points like the ones I have shown you and say it proves nothing yet they cannot prove how they are “errors.” Another very common argument from Jehovah witnesses will say, Jesus never claimed to be God, He never called himself God Technically Jehovah witnesses do have a point. Jesus never came straight out and said it, however Christ’s own words and actions point to him being God, and the divine inspirations from God to the writers of the New Testament who were told what to write, give Christ characteristics that only God can have. Jesus never came out directly and said he was God because the Jews of the time looked at God the same way Jehovah witnesses do. The Jews knew God as the true God, the Father of Israel. Although from the previous articles I posted, you see that even in the Old Testament there was another person who was called God that wasn't the Father. So now let's dive into these passages and see just what they say exactly.
Another very big problem with the Jehovah witnesses since they are Bible perverters, meaning they pervert the Bible for their own cause, is that they make it easier to find verses that contradict them because they add the divine name Jehovah to verses that are about Christ that get referenced many times.
Let me give you two examples that are talking about Jesus, but these perverters of Holy Scripture inserted the divine name which makes it easier for us to use against them.

23 He said: "I am a voice of someone crying out in the wilderness, 'Make the way of Jehovah straight,' just as Isaiah the prophet said."

16 nevertheless, they did not obey the good news. For Isaiah says: "Jehovah who has put faith in the thing heard from us?"

In the Gospel of Saint John, John the Baptist tells the priests and Levites that he, himself is the voice in the wilderness Isaiah foretold about. However, John the Baptists is the forerunner to Christ coming, yet back in Isaiah, which is quoted, 'Make the way of JEHOVAH straight,' But I thought Jesus wasn't God so why did Isaiah say that this voice in the wilderness would be making a path for Jehovah, if the Messiah was going to be just a man? Remember, in the New Testament, the divine name was never used, so let's look at their Greek:

The term in Greek below Lord is (Kyríon) and (Kýrie) which are forms of (Kyrios) meaning; 'lord, master.' How did these perverts know that this Kyrios that was being spoken about was the Father and not Christ because Kyrios is used for Christ as well.

1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord?-"

Here Paul asks a rhetorical question saying that he has seen 'JESUS THE LORD'. This is the exact same form of Lord that the witnesses translated into Jehovah back in John 1, so how is Jesus the same Lord as the Lord the witnesses called Jehovah the Father? How can a man compare to God?
The Lord back in John and Romans was Christ, that is who the writers were talking about.

33 The Jews answered him: "We are stoning you, not for a fine work, but for blasphemy; for you, although being a man, make yourself a god."

So the Jews were stoning Christ because He was making himself a god when He is a man? Were not all the pagan gods of the Gentiles have human forms? So this answer of the Jews makes no sense. As you are probably guessing, they perverted this verses original meaning:
The Jews were not trying to stone Christ for trying to be some false god but God. They interpreted what Christ said in the previous verses as Christ being God even though He looks like a man. The word in the Greek there for God is, (Theón).

"

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.

Here we read that the Word was there in the beginning of the world, and the Word was with God and the Word was, a god? No my friends. You see the Jehovah witnesses' society has a bad habit of acting like Pharisees and Sadducees, who under the influence of Satan, perverted Scripture because the truth is found is Scripture. That is why they changed John 1:1 to read "a god", because if you look at their own Greek Interlinear of the New Testament, John 1;1  doesn't even read this way:
So even their Greek reads "God was the Word', meaning the Word was God, so why do they call the Word "a god" and in their Greek put god? I do not know entirely why they would choose to mistranslate this verse on purpose because it really doesn't help their case. You see why would talk about God then also mention this other being that is on the side of God but call this being a god? It's like they are putting the Word at the status of pagan gods. When you look at the Greek of John, you see the word, 'θεόν' (Theón) which means God. Then you see the word, 'θεὸς', (Theós) which they translated as god, but also means God. Theon is the accusative version of Theos, meaning that both mean the exact same thing. So John was calling the Word, God alongside with God the Father and he differentiated between the God that was the Word and the God the Word was toward, or facing. Who is the subject of this sentence Jehovah witness? The Word, (logos). If you know basic Greek, the subject of a sentence ends in a "s". So why is does it say, 'Theos was the Logos' and then it says earlier that the. 'Logos was toward the Theon' an object will end with 'n', so God, in the beginning of the verse is an object compared to the Word, yet this Word is God but different from the God that it was toward.  And wait, what is said of the Father, that He is a true God, how can Jesus be a god? "So that means Jesus can be a god in some aspect yet He is a false god compared to His Father? How does that make sense"
8 Later they heard the voice of Jehovah God as he was walking in the garden about the breezy part of the day, and the man and his wife hid from the face of Jehovah God among the trees of the garden.

Adam and Eve heard the Voice walking in the garden, then they hid from the Face. So first we are told of the Voice, then the Face, they are the same person. When you read Judges 5:5 it cites Exodus 19:18 (Go to my article about how the Word of Jehovah is the Angel of Jehovah: https://answeringarianism.blogspot.com/2024/08/word-of-jehovah-is-angel-of-jehovah.html But wait, I thought John said the Word was there in the beginning?
9 There he entered a cave and spent the night; and look! Jehovah's word came to him, telling him: "What are you doing here, Elijah?" 10 To this he said: "I have been absolutely zealous for Jehovah the God of armies; for the people of Israel have been forsaken your covenant, your altars they have torn down, and your prophets they have killed with the sword, and I am the only one left. Now they are seeking to take my life away."
13 As soon as Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his official garment and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. Then a voice asked him; "What are you doing here Elijah?" 14 To this he said: "I have been absolutely zealous for Jehovah the God of armies; for the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, your altars they have torn down, and your prophets they have killed with the sword, and I am the only one left. Now they are seeking to take my life away."

The Word of Jehovah came to Elijah at the cave at the beginning of 1 Kings 19 then later a Voice comes to Elijah and the exact same things are said from the Voice and from Elijah that were said from the Word and from Elijah. From these verses we see that the Voice is the Word. that means when back in Genesis when Adam and Eve said they heard the Voice walking, it was the Word of Jehovah walking in the garden. Even the Jews agree with John 1. Here I will show you a quote from  of Genesis from, "The Targum of Jonathan Ben Uzziel."
"[JERSULAEM. And they made to them vestments.] And they heard the voice of the word of the Lord God walking in the garden in the repose of the day"
So even the Jewish Targums agree and translate Genesis 3:8 as the Word of the Lord was walking in the garden. So John is correct, the Word of Jehovah was there in the beginning and even Adam and Eve knew the Word and had seen the Word.  [See this link: http://targum.info/pj/pjgen1-6.htm ] to read the Targum of Genesis Chapters 1-6. I will doing more articles in the future on the Voice of Jehovah and the Face of Jehovah for those of you interested in those and seeing how to connect those to the Word of Jehovah.
"
This section was taken from my previous article which you can read by clicking on this link:
39 See now that I-I am he, And there are no gods apart from me. I put to death, and I make alive. I wound, and I will heal, And no one can rescue from my hand."
6 Come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before Jehovah our maker. 7 For he is our God, And we are the people of his pasture, The sheep in his care. today if you listen to his voice,-
25 Jesus answered them: "I told you, and yet you do not believe. The works that I am doing in my Father's name, these bear witness about me. 26 But you do not believe, because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them everlasting life, and they will by no means ever be destroyed, and no one will snatch them out of my hand

From Deuteronomy and Psalm, we are told that God alone puts to death and makes alive, He wounds and He heals. Then we are told that we are the sheep of God's pasture and we listen to His voice. And yet, in John Christ is attributing these things to Himself. HE has sheep, and they listen to HIS voice and HE gives them everlasting life, and no one can take the sheep from HIS hand and be destroyed.
30 I and the Father are one."

Many Trinitarians will use this verse to prove Christ's deity yet there are ways that Arians will quote other verses to try and refute this, yet the Greek again, has the answers and better meanings of what is being said.
So according to the Greek, Christ and the Father are one thing. How can this be Jehovah witness? How can a man claim to be of the same thing as Jehovah the Father? I thought there was nothing like God in creation, so how can someone of creation by like the Father?
28 Pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the holy spirit has appointed you overseers, to shepherd the congregation of God, which he purchased with the blood of his own Son

So it appears to seem correct to the blind eye when reading this passage, yet these people's own Greek Interlinear disproves them and specifically the word they translated incorrectly disproves them.
The word, son, is not even present. The Greek term for son is (Yiós) or (υιός), but it reads as God self reserved through the blood of own. Now they added the (one) trying to make out to be as own one which they try to translate to "son".  The word for "own" in Greek is (ιδιον) or (idiou). Lets look at Strong's Concordance:
Example 7.(B) (biblehub.com)
   Example 7.(B) (biblehub.com)
So the Greek term here means to pertain to one's self and its SINGULAR. So to a Jehovah witness, when did the Father ever shed His own blood for the body of Christ? Christ shed His own blood for all mankind, for those who have been, and those who will come into existence.
56 Abraham your father rejoiced greatly at the prospect of seeing my day, and he saw it and rejoiced." 57 Then the Jews said to him: "You are not yet 50 years old, and still you have seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to them: "Most truly I say to you, before Abraham came into existence, I have been." 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid and went out of the temple.

Wait Jehovah witness, why did the Jews pick up stones to stone Christ? Christ said nothing blasphemous did He? I know all the Trinitarians who are reading this are confused and upset at how badly the witnesses' perverted this verses as well.
OH! So Christ called Himself the 'I AM', the same name God told Moses to tell Israel when Moses was on Mount Sinai. See this article to see who was actually talking to Moses on the Mount:
Now you see why the Jews went to stone Jesus, because He just claimed to be God, Himself in the Flesh.
24 But Thomas, one of the Twelve, who was called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples were telling him: "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them: "Unless I see his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, I will never believe it." 26 Well, eight days later his disciples were again indoors, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, he stood in their midst and said: "May you have peace." 27 Next he said to Thomas: "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and doubting but believe." 28 In answer Thomas said to him: "My Lord and my God!"

I honestly had forgotten about this verse before writing this article, and when I came upon it I was shocked that it still read this way. However, there Greek reinforces this beyond the English:
'THE LORD OF ME AND THE GOD OF ME!' Wow, what a statement Thomas, but you will be stoned for blasphemy because Jehovah witnesses don't believe Jesus is God. (The Jehovah witness writer who translated this probably was stoned for this) (joke)
18 No man has seen God at any time; the only begotten god who is at the Father's side is the one who has explained Him

So we are told that no one has ever seen God the Father, except by the Christ, who explains the Father.  Now what does this mean, well if you look at the Greek for this verse:
That word that is translated as 'has seen' I have tried translating, yet other Greek documents of this passage has this term:

Example 11 (biblehub.com)
So the word used here means to see as perceiving and is used in ways meaning to see with the mind, understand.  So John 1:18 means that no one has seen God the Father in a way to understand Him or perceive Him unless the Son, Christ, allows you to. So how can Christ, who is supposedly not God, able to understand God and perceive Him but no other person can without Christ allowing it to happen?
24 By faith Moses, when grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25 choosing to be mistreated with the people of God rather than to have the temporary enjoyment of sin, 26 because he considered the reproach of the Christ to be riches greater than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked intently toward the payment of the reward. 27 By faith he left Egypt, but not fearing the anger of the king, for he continued steadfast as seeing the One who is invisible
5 And Jehovah came down in the pillar of cloud and stood at the entrance of the tent and called Aaron and Miriam. Both of them went forward. 6 He then said: "Hear my words, please. If there was a prophet of Jehovah among you, I would make myself known to him in a vision, and I would speak to him in a dream.  7 But it is not that way with my servant Moses! He is being entrusted with all my house with all my house. 8 face-to-face I speak to him, openly, not by riddles; and the appearance of Jehovah is what he sees. why then, did you not fear to speak against my servant, against Moses?"

(Remember that it is Jehovah who is in the pillar of cloud) So Jehovah said that Moses and Him speak FACE-TO-FACE and Jehovah says that Moses sees the appearance of Jehovah. But wait John said that no one has seen God, except when Christ explains the Father to them, allowing them to understand the Father. So when Moses is talking Face-to-face with Jehovah and seeing Jehovah's appearance, that means Christ was allowing Moses to see Jehovah. Now Jehovah witness, you agree so far yes? Well now I am going to through the curveball.
45 It is written in the Prophets: 'They will be taught by Jehovah.' Everyone who has listened to the Father and has learned comes to me. 46 Not that any man has seen the Father, except the one who is from God; this one has seen the Father.

Wait, so no man has seen the Father? Then what Jehovah did Moses speak face-to-face to or Manoah and his wife saw, or who did Jacob wrestle? Jehovah witness, explain this to me? Was Christ lying? Christ says that anyone who learns from Jehovah was learning from Him. So that means when Jehovah came face-to-face, it was Christ who was teaching Moses all the commandments and laws.
4 The Rock, perfect is his activity, For all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness who is never unjust; Righteous and upright is he
15 When Jeshurun grew fat, he kicked out rebelliously. You have grown fat, you have become stout, you have become bloated. So he forsook God, who made him, And despised the Rock of his salvation. 16 They incited him to fury with foreign gods; They were offending him with detestable things. 17 They were sacrificing to demons, not to God, To gods that they had no known, New ones that came along recently, To gods that your forefathers did not know. 18 You forgot the Rock who fathered you, And you did not remember the God who gave birth to you. 19 When Jehovah saw it, he rejected them Because his sons and his daughters offended him. 20 So he said, 'I will hide my face from them; I will see what will become of them. For they are a perverse generation, Sons in whom there is no faithfulness.
8 Do not be in dread, And do not become paralyzed with fear. have I not told each of you beforehand and declared it? you are my witnesses. Is there any God but me? No, there is no other Rock; I know of none.'"

So this Rock is perfect in everything and is just in every way. God makes man and the Rock fathers man and the Rock is salvation. Then in Isaiah, God calls Himself the Rock and there is no other Rock but Himself, God. Where am I going with this?
1 Now I want you to know, brothers, that our forefathers were all under the cloud and all passed through the see 2 and all got baptized into Moses by means of the cloud and of the sea, 3 and all ate the same spiritual food 4 and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they used to drink from the spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock meant* the Christ

Here Paul was touching back on the cloud and says that all of Israel got baptized by the CLOUD, and the sea. Then all the spiritual food and drink came from the Rock that followed them, the cloud, and then says the rock was CHRIST. Note their asterisk (*) re-translates it to 'was the Christ.' So Christ Jesus was that ROCK and the Cloud? Yet earlier it said Jehovah was the Rock, and so if the Rock was in the cloud that means Christ was the One in the cloud and fire pillars, so Christ is Jehovah, again He is not the Father, but of the same essence.
5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.
4 As they continued their journey from Mount Hor by the way of the Red Sea in order to go around the land of Edom, the people became weary of the journey. 5 And the people kept speaking against God and Moses, saying: "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no food and no water, and we have come to hate this contemptible bread." 6 So Jehovah sent poisonous serpents among the people, and they kept biting the people, so that many Israelites died. 7 So the people came to Moses and said: "We have sinned by speaking against Jehovah and against you. Intercede with Jehovah so that he many remove the serpents from us." And Moses interceded on behalf of the people. 8 Then Jehovah said to Moses: "Make a replica of a poisonous snake and put it on a pole. Then when anyone has been bitten, he will have to look at it in order to keep alive." 9 Moses at once made a serpent of copper and put it on the pole, and whenever a serpent had bitten a man and he looked at the copper serpent, he survived.
9 Neither let us put Jehovah to the test, as some of them put him to the test, only to perish by serpents.
Ah, there is that word again. LORD. Earlier in this article, we know that the Lord of Paul would be Christ. So he was referring to Christ here in verse 9. Is this too far of a stretch? Certainly not and if there is a Jehovah witness who says it is, remember they have a version of the King James Version Bible they endorse and have, and is on their website:
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Put all of these passages together now, we see that back in verse 5, it says God was not please and struck down the Israelites in the wilderness. Then in Numbers it says that Jehovah sent serpents that bit people and they died, and then back in 1Corinthians 10:9 we are told that it was CHRIST who was tempted by the Israelites in the wilderness and sent serpents to kill them.
There is another connection here in 1 Corinthians 10 that I must touch upon.
15 When Jeshurun grew fat, he kicked out rebelliously. You have grown fat, you have become stout, you have become bloated. So he forsook God, who made him, And despised the Rock of his salvation. 16 They incited him to fury with foreign godsThey were offending him with detestable things. 17 They were sacrificing to demons, not to God, To gods that they had no known, New ones that came along recently, To gods that your forefathers did not know.
5 Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness. 6 Now these things became examples for us, in order for us not to desire injurious things, as they desired them. 7 Neither become idolaters, as some of the did; just as it is written: "The people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to have a good time."
9 Neither let us put Jehovah to the test, as some of them put him to the test, only to perish by serpents. 10 Neither be murmurers, as some of them murmured, only to perish by the destroyer. 11 Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for a warning to us upon whom the ends of the systems of things have come.
14 Therefore, my beloved ones, flee from idolatry. 15 I speak as to men with discernment; judge for yourselves what I say. 16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of the Christ? The loaf that we break, is it not a sharing in the body of the Christ? 17 because there is one loaf, we, although many, are one body, for we are all partaking of that one loaf. 18 look at Israel in the fleshly sense: are not those who eat the sacrifices sharers with the altar? 19 What, then, am I saying? That what is sacrificed to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? 20 No; but I say that what the nations sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become sharers with the demons. 21 You cannot be drinking the cup of Jehovah and the cup of demons; you cannot be partaking of the table of Jehovah and the table of demons. 22 Or 'are we inciting Jehovah to jealousy'? We are not stronger than he is, are we?

In Deuteronomy  we are told that the Israelites were sacrificing to demons that pretended to be gods and it angered God, Jehovah. Then in 1Corinthians 10:5-7 that the Israelites were struck down because God was not pleased with them sacrificing to demons and to God, Himself. Then in verse 9-11 that Christ sent the serpents to kill the Israelites and that we should not test Christ today because if He did that to the Israelites who were His chosen people back then, what would stop Him from doing it to us today when we continue to live in these sins. Then in later verses, verses 14-22 that we should free from that idolatry, and then Paul says something very interesting. He says, that the CUP that they all partake is it not the blood of CHRIST, then he asks if the one LOAF that is broken, is it not the body of CHRIST. Then it says that we cannot partake of the CUP of JEHOVAH and the cup of demons, and the TABLE of JEHOVAH and the table of demons. Wait, I thought it was the CUP of CHRIST and the BODY of CHRIST, so there's two separate Eucharists? One for Christ and one for the Father? No. The Jehovah witnesses made an oopsie here by changing the original word, LORD to Jehovah, because they know Paul was quoting where it says you cannot sacrifice to demons and God, and saw this verse and had to change it, forgetting that the cup and table are Christ's. So by their own translation here, they just called Christ, Jehovah.
I hate to have repetition but I will need to quote 1Corinthians 10:9 once more for this next example.
9 Neither let us put Jehovah to the test, as some of them put him to the test, only to perish by serpents.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
4 My reason is that certain men have slipped in among you who were long ago appointed to this judgement by the Scriptures; they are ungodly men who turn the undeserved kindness of our God into an excuse for brazen conduct and who prove false to our only owner and Lord, Jesus Christ. 5 Although you are fully aware of all this, I wanted to remind you that Jehovah, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those not showing faith.

Jude tells us that our ONLY OWNER and LORD is Jesus Christ. Then Jude says that Jehovah brought the Israelites out of Egypt and destroyed them. But wait didn't in 1Corinthians Paul said it was Christ?
Again, again, that word, Lord. Remember back to what I talked about in John 1:1, so the Lord is the the subject, and who was just called Lord in verse 4? JESUS CHRIST. Now the King James Version translates this verse to Lord, but did you know that some translations put 'Jesus' because we know that is who is being talked about here. In fact the oldest papyrus scrolls, the oldest Greek scroll for Jude, Papyrus 72 says something even greater then Lord and Jesus.
Example 14 Papyrus 72
It says: (θεὸς Χριστός) which looks like (Theos Christos) which translates to God Christ. Wow.  Now Papyrus 72 is the oldest Greek manuscript of Jude we have at this time and it says this because the scribe who wrote that verse knew the connection and wrote that it.
I am going to cut this article here and write many more parts to this article to add on more verses because this article is quite long already.
"The LORD bless you
and keep you;
the LORD make His face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn His face toward you
and give you peace." ☦

Christ Is God Part VI: John 5:23 Proves Christ's Deity

Christ Is The Creator Of The Heavens And Earth
